I’m very excited today because I received a fabulous sample in the post.
It was a pot of Everlong Paint in Olive Branch green. The colour is Divine-right up my street, calming but strong-a bold tone but not over the top. I was very happy!
So, why try a new chalk paint I hear you cry?! Well, as you know I have used lots of chalk paint over the years, but the thing that caught my eye was that with Everlong you don’t need to wax after you’ve painted!! Say what?! Yes, no need for waxing! Hallelujah-finally the only down side to chalk paint has gone! I’m sure you can understand my excitement.
Well with my trusty wooden spoon to hand, random I know but there is a logic to the craziness (these spoons are very smooth, a nice light wood and therefore means I can really tell how the paint goes on)! Anyway, spoon in hand it was time to try it.
Having tried pretty much every brand of Chalk Paint on the market I can definitely say I am a convert to Everlong Superior Finish Paint. Especially as you don’t need to wax. The application is smooth and consistent and the drying time quick (perfect for quick results). Once dried and buffed the finish is silky and soft to touch. I am very impressed.
As promised it went on very well. It was smooth to apply and no need to add water or worry about uneven coverage. Very nice. And then I waited. Unsure as to whether it would dry nicely. Well, it does! And with only one coat. I was, quite frankly astonished. I honestly did not think it would go on so well. So a soft cloth and a bit of a buff later and one very silky feeling spoon handle.
This, my friends is going to be fun!! The colours of the Everlong range are beautiful. Subtle hues, all very British in their pallet, and I can definitely see them fitting in perfectly to our Contemporary Country style here at Rascal & Roses. They also compliment the Farrow & Ball shades perfectly as well.
To gather some Olive Branch inspiration I headed over to Pinterest and (as expected) was not disappointed! So many brilliant ideas out there for a colour like this. Superb news.
